The Graveyard Mass was celebrated on the 8th August 2013 8pm.

August 13th, 2013Ann Fitzgibbon (nee O’Keeffe)(Caherlane, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick)- Aug. 11th 2013, (peacefully), Ann; deeply regretted by her loving husband Patrick, daughters Betty, Norma, Annette, Patricia and Mary, sons John and Paudie, mother Nora, brothers, sister, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends. R.I.P. Reposing at Harnett’s Funeral Home Abbeyfeale on Tuesday from 6.00 p.m. followed by removal at 8.00 p.m. to Church of the Assumption Abbeyfeale. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11.00 a.m. Funeral afterwards to Reilig Íde Naofa Abbeyfeale.

“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning”
Summer is a great time to relax and put down the busy-ness of life. So there is temptation to think that this Gospel is not placed well in our summer calendar … maybe it would be better to think of such things in September?
However, it is given to us here and now – and Gods word always has something to say to us, right now. SO what might we reflect on?
- When we slow down and relax, we become aware of what really matters - what really matters for you and your family now?
- When we step away from busy-ness, we can see more clearly what is unrefected upon habit and noise, and what is important – this summer, what can you do without, what matters?
Perhaps being awake and prepared
isn’t about being busy, or sleepless nights.
Perhaps its about knowing who we are and who we serve.
Unless we know that we may be like the foolish rather than the wise women. Busy, but not really present when it counts.
May this summer offer us time and space to recognise God present with us, so that we may be present to God, and Gods will for our lives.
